Obamacare Equals obamatax Small BusinessesTwo owners of small business. One employs 58 people and the other employs 74 people. Both of them has said that in 2014 (when the provision is activated that requires employers of 50 or more people to offer a health care plan) they are going to fire 9 people and 25 people respectively.
Be assured that unemployment will SKYROCKET in 2014. Do not doubt me!
I’ve seen a number of reports from NBC to Fox, and the small business owners have all said about the same thing. Some will lay folks off to get under the limit and others have said that they will drop health insurance altogether because the fine is a lot less than the new premiums will be. The end result will be more folks having to go to the government for a subsidy to help them buy insurance. These subsidy will increase the deficit!
There’s a way around any system and this one is no different. What will this one will be? Will obamacare have to take effect before we can find out the different ways?
Doctors fleeing the practicesEd Haislmaier, a health care researcher at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC, said Obamacare will accelerate the decline in doctor-owned private practices because more doctors will only accept patients who can pay in cash, leading to fewer clients and fewer private practices. Haislmaier. “Make no mistake, some doctors who are in private practice are going to start to do something else or go somewhere else if Obamacare is not altered.”
Threats to the doctor-patient relationship existed before the passage of Obamacare. However, rather than empowering doctors and patients, the Obamacare will result in further erosion as a result of government intrusion in health care.
The empact of obamacare on..... SeniorsLike most seniors, Ann Lorenz relies on Medicare as she copes with serious health care challenges, including Parkinson's Disease. Ann sees a number of doctors and depends on a variety of prescription drugs and therapies to stay independent. She worries that Obamacare threatens her access to doctors, treatment options and insurance plans - and her neurologist shares her concerns.
The SolutionGive seniors greater choice of doctors, private health plans, and services under Medicare.
Obamacare Facts & Figures
Nearly one-quarter of all seniors rely on Medicare Advantage, the private health care option in Medicare. However, Obamacare makes such deep cuts to that program that half of those covered will no longer be able to keep the coverage they have.
New taxes on drug companies ($27 billion) and medical device makers ($20 billion), as well as new reporting requirements and regulations imposed on physicians, will make access to health care and services more costly and difficult for seniors under Obamacare
DoctorsDr. Martha Boone has been practicing medicine for 25 years. But under the new health care law, which reinforces the worst features of existing third-party payment arrangements in both the private and public sectors, she's unsure how much longer she'll be able to serve her patients.
The SolutionTo make the costs of health care more predictable and sustainable for providers, fix Medicare and Medicaid by allowing patients to choose coverage that best suit them.
Obamacare Facts & Figures
Obamacare expands government's role as the primary payer of health care by adding 18 million people to the Medicaid program, which on average reimburses doctors only 56 percent of the market rate for medical procedures.
Due to increased regulation and less reimbursement, 66 percent of doctors are considering no longer accepting government health programs.
Businesses & The EconomyThe new health care law will impose new compliance regulations, employer mandate taxes, and numerous indirect costs on small- and medium-size companies. For Scott Womack, the owner of a dozen IHOP restaurants in Indiana and Ohio, these are obstacles that will likely prevent him from expanding his business and hiring new employees.
The SolutionStop new tax increases, promote tax cuts that would expand private insurance coverage and grow the economy, and encourage portability of health insurance so that workers own their health care plan, regardless of their job status.
Obamacare Facts & Figures
$52 billion in new taxes will be imposed on businesses by mandating that employers provide health insurance.
On February 10, 2011, CBO Director Doug Elmendorf testified before the House Budget Committee that Obamacare will result in an estimated 800,000 fewer U.S. jobs.
StatesThe states have long been pursuing innovative solutions to meet the specific health care needs of their citizens. Governor Mitch Daniels knows that Obamacare will not only saddle Indiana with billions in new Medicaid costs, but its usurpation of state authority in regulating private insurance will lead to the probable demise of the Healthy Indiana Plan, which currently provides health insurance to 50,000 low-income Hoosiers.
The SolutionBecause no two states are alike, promote federal–state partnerships to accommodate the unique and diverse health care challenges facing the states.
Obamacare Facts & Figures
By 2019, over 80 million people will be on the Medicaid program—requiring billions of dollars from state budgets and taxpayers.
Twenty-one State Attorneys General have filed suits to protect their citizens from being forced, in violation of the Constitution, to purchase government-approved health insurance.
Families & Future GenerationsFamilies should have complete control of their health care dollars and decisions. Instead, Obamacare reduces choice by expanding government-controlled health care, placing a heavy cost on future generations of taxpayers, to the disapproval of parents like Larry Patterson.
The SolutionRein in runaway spending and deficits. Rather than bureaucrats and lobbyists prescribing health care benefits and services, respect the role of families in moral and all other decisions involving their health care.
Obamacare Facts & Figures
Obamacare adds a trillion dollars in new health care spending, expanding prohibitively expensive entitlements and creating a subsidy scheme that discourages work and penalizes marriage.
New Obamacare spending includes $125 million per year for school-based health centers and a new program to reduce teen pregnancy, with no requirement to reduce abortions.
The UninsuredA number of provisions in the health care bill will discourage the uninsured from seeking coverage and cause the insured to lose the coverage they currently have.
The SolutionGive tax relief or direct assistance and provide portability for those who buy their own health care coverage, allowing individual Americans to take their insurance coverage from job to job.
Obamacare Facts & Figures
Those who gain coverage will be enrolled in Medicaid, the welfare program for the poor, or in a health plan designed by the government.
The millions who remain uninsured will still depend on overcrowded emergency rooms for routine care.
