President obama is Candidate obama

Candidate obama travels around America giving the same tired, worn-out economic, campaign-style, speech he has been giving for almost five years now.

Rather than offering new solutions that could revive the dormant economy and put people back to work, the President offered the same old policies that have already failed, namely more stimulus spending on infrastructure and misguided educational programs. Taking money out of one area of the economy and spending it in another through the government does not create economic growth.

The unemployment rate (government manipulated numbers) is still much too high at 7.6 percent; 11.8 million Americans are out of work; and the economy grew at a paltry 1.8 (this should be over 2%, but less than 4%) percent last quarter. At this point in a recovery, growth should far surpass that paltry low rate of 1.8%.

The main reason the economy continues to grow below its potential is the uncertainty businesses feel because of the President’s own policies. Obamacare and the Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation are making it impossible for businesses to plan. Adding to the uncertainty is a debt crisis still lingering in the near future, unless Washington reforms entitlements like Social Security and Medicare soon—yet the President refuses to offer a serious plan.

The damage of all this uncertainty is severe and blaming Bush will not and has not corrected the problem.


Candidate Obama Is Not President Obama

While in the Senate and on the campaign trail during the 2008 presidential election, Barack Obama spoke eloquently about the need to restore due process and constitutional procedure for people targeted and captured by the U.S. government. He repeatedly called for the closure of Guantanamo Bay, and on his first day of office as President he signed and Executive Order vowing to shut down Gitmo within one year.

However, as President, Obama has merely expanded those policies which he strongly opposed during his time in the Senate and on the campaign trail. Indeed, Obama authorized the assassinations of Anwar Al-awlaki and Abdulrahman Al-awlaki, both U.S. citizens, without presenting any evidence before or after their lives were taken by U.S. drone strikes in 2011.

Obama’s new precedent of assassinating U.S. citizens without trial, submission of evidence, or any court procedure whatsoever is a far cry from what Obama himself espoused in 2007:

   “The detention of American citizens, without access to counsel, fair procedure, or pursuant to judicial authorization, as enemy combatants is unconstitutional.” — Barack Obama; December 2007
