What Can We Do to Avoid Future Obamas?

America will be lucky if we can regain our feet after the Obama disaster. He’s either clueless, the best friend Marxists ever had, or both. But what can be done to avoid another Barack? In a word—education. We need to return to our roots and re-school ourselves on American history, from the Founders forward. This is the only way to avoid another illiterate leftist demagogue, like Barack. And we also need to retain to a society of virtues, by cultivating them in ourselves and family, and encouraging our friends in the same manner. This is the only way a democratic republic can avoid becoming a police state.


Based upon the fact that the American Founders built a lasting society, creating the fairest, most prosperous state ever conceived, we ought to move back to their ideals. And also not forget that the first settlers here came for religious freedom so they would have opportunity to practice Christianity, not treat it as a intellectual laughingstock and the Church as a modern-day leper colony.

here came for religious freedom"Yes, freedom is what they sought. They wanted to practice a certain religion, but the idea of freedom appealed to others as well.

But I honestly don't believe Americans want to be free.

I honestly believe that ..at least...47% of Americans do not want to be free. Because....

What the 47% say, “Let's have more benefits, spend more, if we are not paying for it. It's 'free. That's is a good thing to have”.

These people can skip the post office run on April 15 to mail a check because most of them are expecting one from the government instead.

These 47% vote for politicians promising more and more handouts, paid for by money forcibly extracted from an ever-shrinking number of their neighbors.

In addition to being immoral, it's poor public policy: people who pay no taxes but nevertheless get benefits are less likely to be careful overseers of their freedom or their elected representatives.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with your numbers. I think the percentage is much higher, like 98%.

I'd bet there is only one person (me) on this list willing to shut down all the public schools and make it not mandatory for children to go to school, and fire all those involved in the public school system. No pension, no retirement, no unemployment compensation. Yes, even your beloved public school teachers.
I'd wager every last one of you want the free public schools for all children your mentors suggested was a right.
