A message to all members of FairTax Nation
There is a brand new tool for communicating our support for the FairTax to our members of Congress. Only a handful of people have discovered it and, so far, the FairTax supporters are leading!
In January, Congress changed its rules to allow iPads on the House Floor. In 2010 an enterprising group of Washington insiders had already been at work on a project to give members of Congress instant feedback from constituents. Now, the two are about to come together. While still being developed, an app for the new "POPVOX" website portends to let our representatives test the mood of people in their districts on a real time basis.
Here is what POPVOX can already do. This is a snapshot of national support and opposition to "H.R. 25: Fair Tax Act of 2011." Out of 532 people who have discovered the site, the FairTax is now favored 64 to 35 percent.
(You do not need an ipad to participate -- your computer will do the job!)
How to use POPVOX:
Go to: https://www.popvox.com/bills/us/112/hr25
In order to post your comment, you have to register as a user first, but it is a fairly quick and relatively painless process. Your comment will be delivered directly to your Congressman.
Clicking on the link above takes you to a page that allows you to vote in support of or in opposition to the FairTax Bill.
Just to the right of that title is an arrow button that is labeled "BACK TO BILL STATUS."
Notice what happens when you mouse over the color coded dots on the map of the states. It displays stats for individual Congressional districts.
Scroll down further, and POPVOX displays two columns, "Supporting Comments" and "Opposing Comments" for the issue in question (looking at the negative side, it's clear we still have a lot of educating to do on the FairTax).
Remember to also vote in favor of
S 13 -- The Senate version of the FairTax
H. J. Res. 16 -- Bill to repeal the 16 Amendment
Please share this new tool with your FairTax family and friends and ask them to vote in favor of the FairTax!
Questions? Just ask!
