As I write this post, Herman Cain is enjoying one of his biggest fund raising days while the left-wing media clamors to make a lame sexual harassment suit a defining issue of his campaign. I’m not going to list all of the things that have been said about Herman Cain. If you haven’t heard by now, you will. There is one attribute about the man that strikes me. That is, he is the complete opposite of President Obama.
The left wants you to believe that Republicans only support Cain because he is black and he is being used by the right to try to mask the race steeped opposition to Obama. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Let’s compare Obama to Cain for a moment. It has been documented on several occasions that Obama does not agree with American execptionalism. Our President has bowed to other heads of state, and he has given multiple speeches abroad apologizing for this country, but not Herman Cain. Herman Cain has lived the American dream. He loves this country, and he is loving his life. I think that is the thing that attracts so many people to Cain. He is not sorry or ashamed of who he is and his lot in life. He is not self-loathing. Recently, he was quoted as saying, “It is not a person’s fault if they succeeded, it is a person’s fault if they failed.” I liked that remark. It’s the kind of thing a great football coach tells his team during a hard fought football game. It’s motivating. Not divisive. President Obama, on the other hand, has spent his life, (at least what we know about his life) trying to convince others that their failure is all because of someone else. Cain is about personal responsibility, while Obama is about blaming his predecessor for his own shortcomings and trying to convince those that have been demoralized by decades of Democratic policies, that somehow it’s successful people’s fault.
The left is so afraid of this man that they have given us an October surprise a full year before the 2012 election and months before anyone even cast a primary vote. Just as the left was blinded by the spell of Obama in 2008, they have been blind-sided by “The Cain Train” in 2012. They have been caught completely off guard and have simply reacted by grabbing the biggest thing that they could find and throwing it a him. This is what flustered losers do. And make no mistake about it. Liberalism has lost big time. It’s just that they don’t know it yet. If you don’t believe me just ask Clarence Thomas.
