tinySpell
Occasionally you need to check spelling in an application that does not include a spelling checker and you don't want to launch your word processor just for that. This is when tinySpell becomes handy. It is a small utility that allows you to easily and quickly check and correct the spelling in any Windows application.
tinySpell can watch your typing on the fly and alert you whenever it detects a misspelled word.
It can also check the spelling of text that you copy to the clipboard. tinySpell installs itself in the system tray for easy access.

FreeSpell
FreeSpell is a spell checker for any and all Windows applications. You can use it in Microsoft Outlook, Firefox, Visual C++, and even in Windows Explorer when renaming files. In fact, anything that supports the clipboard supports FreeSpell, and all it takes is a hotkey to invoke it. FreeSpell is based upon the Aspell engine, which means it offers the best spell checker around for people with weak spelling skills (as well for people who just need a quick proofread).

Only posting a couples of differences.
Forum spellcheckers work by using the mouse to check spelling and to pick a word replacement. With FreeSpell, the key board is used to check spelling and to pick a word replacement.
Unlike forum spellcheckers, FreeSpell is on your computer and can be use for..... more than just posting on a forum!
tinySpell watches your typing on the fly and alerts you whenever it detects a misspelled word (with a beep and a yellow icon).
FreeSpell does not, you have to load it and minimize it to the task bar for it to work! When you are through.... just click on “close”.
tinySpell, you have to click on exit the program.....if you do not want it to run in background all of the time. This means it is using system resources when it is not needed, that is, if you forget to exit it!
FreeSpell has a better selection of words to replace the misspelled words. This is what I would need!
