If you’ve never seen Oliver Stone’s “W.”, a good chance to watch it — for free — is on Hulu.com right now.
The movie stars James Brolin as President George W. Bush, Elizabeth Banks as First Lady Laura Bush, James Cromwell as President George H.W. Bush, Ellen Burstyn as First Lady Barbara Bush, Thandie Newton as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Richard Dreyfuss as Vice President Dick Cheney, a 10 year old boy with severe emotional issues as Rachel Maddow, Noah Wylie as Commerce Secretary Donald Evans, one of the long out of work TeleTubbies (I think the yellow one) as Senator Claire McCaskill, and Jason Ritter as Governor Jeb Bush.
This was in theaters years ago and it is an interesting portrayal of President Bush. Stone struck an interesting middle of the road with this project, in that it delighted nor infuriated no one.
Watch it because it’s free on Hulu and/or because you honestly really do miss “Dubya”. Well maybe not the latter!!
Who would have thought that three years into the Golden Age of Hope and Change that so many people who were hyper-critical of President Bush now join me in wishing he and Mrs. Bush were still in the White House?
